Big Fish for Frequent Flyers

Jon Bradlee & Jerry O’Neill from Downingtown, PA , and Lloyd Milner from Delray travel to Marathon several times a year to fish aboard the Big Dawg.  Today, the Cobia and Permit bite kept them busy reeling.

The Four J’s – Day 2

The Goliath Grouper put up a hard fight, but the guys fought harder and landed 3 at the same time.  Later, the Cobia got hungry and the boys caught their limit.  Jonathan’s last catch, a permit, like his crab bait.  Not only can JoJo and Jonathan jack some jaw, they can scrub up the boat too!

Today started off with a quick stop to load up on pinfish.

Finding the right fishing hole and the right current gave way to a great catch.  Everyone hooked into some cobia as well as other assorted species, including a delicious eating triple tail.  It was a chilly day. but the bite was hot and the water was crystal clear.

On day 2, Mike decided to take these two veteraned fishermen out oceanside.  Marie landed a beautiful mutton snapper and several grouper.  Later, the yellowtail bite was on and Harry hooked up!

Harry & Marie Day 1

Harry and Marie came to fish the Keys and had three great days aboard the Big Dawg with Captain Mike.  Day one was a run out back to see what they could hunt down.  The shark bite kept Marie’s rod bent and they both enjoyed hooking up goliath grouper.

Afternoon storms (check out the water spout) cut the fishing day short but not the fun and excitement!

 

The Four J’s (Rava Family)

Big Joe, Joe, JoJo and Jonathan Rava hooked up in the Gulf.  The Cobias were abundant, the sharks were lurking, and the Permit were cautiously checking out bait. The first day, Jonathan had the hot rod and kept his lines tight!
