Despite some chilly weather and making a fast break form an intense storm, the Rava family had three great days of fishing on the Big Dawg.  Big J the grandfather, Joe the dad, & JoJo and Jonathan saw lots of action.  Lots of grouper, mackerals and sharks were caught and released.  Some cobia made for great eating too.

Harold Bennett from Fort Lauderdale loves Cobia!  Instead of asking Captain Mike to bring some in for him (which he loves to bring to Frank’s for a great dinner), Harold decided to go along for the catch.  Harold’s a longtime fisherman, but doesn’t fish out back much.  He and our good friend, the Bob, had a great Cobia catch and a great dinner that night.

Pat Cervone, an avid fisherman and his 7 year old son Vitale, who’s been fishing since he could hold a rod, had a great day on the water.  Both father and son were in on the snapper and grouper action, but Vitale got named “Big Dawg of the Day” for his sailfish catch.  It was a beauty and Vitale handled the whole catch on his own.  Pictured below are Jimmy with an awesome Mutton Snapper and Vitale, along with Dad and Captain Mike, showing off his prize catch.

Brad Swartz, recent UF graduate and now working at Siemen’s in Pittsburgh, was happy with the fight this Jack Crevalle put up!  Conditions were warm and sunny, with light winds on this day of fishing on the Big Dawg.  Dan Langdon managed to catch two groupers on one jig at the same time.  There’s a first for everything!
